Phnom Bayang Temple (often referred to locally as Phnom Bayang Kor) is a historical pre-Angkorian site located atop a 313-meter mountain (Phnom Bayang) in Kirivong District, Takeo Province, Cambodia. Built in the 7th century (circa 615–635 AD) during the reign of King Bhavavarman II of the Chenla Period, it serves as a historical and natural attraction.
Pre-Angkorian Architecture: Built primarily from brick, laterite, and sandstone, the central tower structure stands as an ancient testament to early Khmer architecture dedicated to Hinduism.
Panoramic Summit Views: Climbing the stairs to the mountain peak offers wide views across the countryside, surrounding forests, and nearby rice fields near the Vietnam border.
Natural Stream & Surroundings: Nearby mountain streams and seasonal water cascades flow along the slopes, creating a peaceful surrounding landscape during the wet season.
Best Time to Visit: The cooler months from November to February offer the most comfortable hiking conditions.
